Programs

Choosing the Right Track

Who are Verbattle's programs for?

Verbattle programs are designed for students in grades 6-12, spanning first-time speakers in the Activity Zone through competition-ready debaters in the Academy and Debate Club tracks. Schools and teachers are also directly supported through the Teachers Workshop.

Are Verbattle's programs only about debate?

No. While Debate Club and the Academy focus on structured reasoning and case-building, tracks like Forum and Activity Zone build general public speaking and confidence, and Certification and Teachers Workshop support recognition and educator training respectively.

Can a school partner with Verbattle for a custom format?

Yes. Verbattle works with over 200 partner schools on curriculum integration, in-house debate clubs and teacher training, and can adapt program formats to a school's specific calendar and student levels.

How should a first-time student start?

First-time students typically begin with the Forum or Activity Zone tracks to build confidence in a low-pressure setting, then progress into Debate Club or Verbattle Academy as their skills develop.

Formats and Training

Which debate formats does Verbattle teach?

Verbattle trains students in four formats: British Parliamentary, Asian Parliamentary (the most common school format), Lincoln-Douglas one-on-one value debate, and Public Forum for current-events discussion.

Do students need prior debate experience to join?

No. The debate track is built for grades 6-12 at any experience level, starting with observed rounds before moving into guided practice and live competition.

Does Verbattle offer debate training in Kannada?

Yes. Verbattle Karnataka runs a dedicated Kannada-medium debate track alongside our English-format programs, so students can build the same argument-and-rebuttal skills in their home language before or alongside competing in English formats.

Is Verbattle Karnataka conducted in Kannada or English?
